Mood swings and other fun stuff!

Maggie will be 4 on Thursday. Four! How can that be? I believe she has been testing out the waters of being 4 the past couple of weeks, just to see how they feel. There have been a lot of stony silences, some foot stomping and one visit to the car in the middle of a trip to Harris Teeter. But, on the other hand, an "office" was set up in the middle of our den, her baby has been very well taken care of and of course, lots and LOTS of chatter! Maggie is desperate for homework after school (I was the same way--I could not WAIT for 3rd grade, when we actually got some homework!) so she lays out all of her papers and pencils and sets up a makeshift computer and gets to work.

We spent Labor Day weekend with Emma, Brooke and Jeff and had an early birthday party for the girls, who are 4 days apart. Maggie was on the down side of a mood swing and wasn't really in the mood for a party. Emma, on the other hand, was most excited.

Excited!

Not excited.

Happy and not so happy.

Emma's turn to blow out her candle!

And...now, Maggie's...turn.
Or not.

Uh oh! The mood was contagious!

All better now!

So, without writing a ton, we had a lot of fun and I wished for the millionth time that Brooke and Jeff lived closer to us. It took Maggie and Emma about 1 minute to warm up to one another and they giggled and screeched the weekend away.

We also celebrated the 3rd anniversary of Family Day on September 4. Well, we didn't really celebrate it this year because 1. we are lame and 2. we had to go to a high school football game so Maggie got to celebrate by watching David's school lose by 79 points. But, I did have her try on her Gotcha Day dress again this year.

Wowsers. This might be the last year, ya think?

We love you, Maggie!

Maybe you could pair it with jeans to make it a bit less risque...

This post cracks me up! Add ten years to Maggie and she would resemble someone I know pretty well. The almost eye rolls :-) puhleez. Wonderful. I miss you all.

Were those tears on her face in the gotcha pix? Maybe the T-shirt trauma got to her at the celebration.
